SummerStage Safety
What you can expect while attending SummerStage 2021: (UPDATED 8/12/21)
In response to the increasing spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant, all guests will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination in order to enter our shows at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park. In addition, masks are required upon entry to the venue and strongly encouraged for all guests for the duration of the performance, as is physical distance.
Upon arrival, please have your mask on and your tickets ready if it is a Benefit show (either on your phone or printed).
SAFETY UPDATES TO ENTER: PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION
All patrons must provide proof of a completed FDA or WHO vaccination to enter SummerStage in Central Park. Full vaccination means having received a final FDA or WHO dose at least 14 days prior to the performance date. Please refer to the specific event page for the full vaccination eligibility date to enter the show.
To expedite entry into the venue, we recommend that you use Health Pass by CLEAR and bring your government-issued ID with you. The CLEAR mobile app allows you to easily link your proof of vaccination to streamline entry. You will need a government-issued ID, your vaccination card and a smartphone to download the app. Download Health Pass by CLEAR and enroll here.
The following are also acceptable forms of vaccination proof at SummerStage:
- CDC vaccination cards with a corresponding government-issued ID
- Photos or photocopies of your CDC vaccination card with a corresponding government-issued ID
- NY State Excelsior Pass with a corresponding government-issued ID
- NYC COVID Safe App (Apple | Android) to display your photo ID and vaccine card only.
- EU Digital Covid Certificates with a corresponding government-issued ID
- CDC vaccination cards for the Astra Zeneca vaccination study with a corresponding government-issued ID
- Please note: SummerStage will not accept proof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter.
FACE COVERINGS
Masks are required upon entry to the venue and strongly encouraged for all guests for the duration of the performance.
All children between the ages of 2 and 12 will be asked to wear masks at all times if they are physically able.
Once inside the venues, management are currently:
Requesting all visitors to wear masks at all times unless they are eating/drinking
- Offering hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue as well as ensuring extra venue cleaning protocols before shows
- Offering a cashless venue with contactless concessions - you will be able to order all food and drink with your smartphone both in advance and on site

Venue Guide
- Masks - the continued use of masks in crowded settings is recommended. Masks are required for entering the venue.
- Social Distance Efforts - Your SummerStage experience has been modified to support social distancing guidelines during all events. Seating pods and rows will be spaced out to help create distance.
- Venue Entrance and Exiting - For all events, you must enter the venue only using the 69th street and East Park Drive entrance.
- Sanitation - High-touch surfaces and common areas such as restrooms and seats will be cleaned and disinfected regularly in accordance with CDC guidelines.
- Restrooms - Each section of the venue has convenient access to designated restrooms. Please use the restroom located closest to your section. Each restroom will feature touch-free fixtures for your safety, and they will be cleaned and sanitized for your visit to SummerStage. Additionally, hand sanitizer dispensers will be located in various locations around the venue.
- Food and Beverage Service - For safety, all pods will feature QR code decals at each seat to access food and drink menu and to place cashless orders.
- Food and beverage can be ordered in advance here as well.
- To access the menu, scan the QR code with your smartphone (open the camera on your smartphone and point it at the code for recognition). Through your phone, you will be able to place an order and pay for it using a major credit card or Apple, Google, Android or Samsung pay. Once ready, patrons will pick up their orders.
- Guests must be 21+ and must show a current valid federal or state ID to buy alcoholic beverages. You can purchase up to two drinks at a time per ID. Servers delivering to the pod will ID the guests.
- Touchless Experience - From digital ticketing to cashless concession payment and touch-free restroom fixtures, SummerStage is committed to providing a touchless experience for guests.
- Accessibility - Accessible entrance and exit points and seating are available for every event and will also require 6 feet of physical distancing between parties. Other protocols related to accessibility remain the same, which can be found on our Frequently Asked Questions page.
