The daffodil, sometimes called the narcissus flower, is a member of the Amaryllidaceae family. It grows freely in Europe, Asia, and some parts of Africa. Daffodils can range in color, and are sometimes orange, yellow, pink, or white. In Central Park's Conservatory Garden, the most common version is the yellow daffodil. These cheerful flowers bloom in the spring. Because they are bulbous plants, they need only be fertilized to return year after year. Their brilliant colors make them one of the most popular flowers in the Conservatory Garden. Daffodils can also be found at Central Park's Daffodil Hill.
