A new exhibit in Central Park explores the organisms, infrastructure and history of the seven different manmade bodies of water in Central Park that cover 150 of its 800 acres. It contains pictures, interactive video, artifacts from the construction of the waterways, and a seasonally evolving display describing what's going on outside the center at the Harlem Meer.
"Ponds, Pipes, and People" is a free exhibit, hosted by the Conservancy, that opened this past Saturday at the Dana Center at 110th Street and Central Park North. It will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week for the next 18 months.
