Gothamist just announced the movies to be shown this summer in Central Park. Click here to see their original posting. It will be a flash back to the 80's - so wear a side pony, get out your clogs and plan a date in the park.
In honor of the Conservancy's 35th anniversary, the movies to be shown are all 35 years old.
All films are screened in the landscape north of Sheep Meadow, near the cafe (mid-Park at 69th Street) at 8 p.m. rain or shine. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and films will be closed-captioned. Bring a blanket or two, as well as a picnic dinner and popcorn, and then enjoy the following movies:
Tuesday, August 25: Fame
Wednesday, August 26: Blues Brothers
Thursday, August 27: Airplane
Friday, August 28: Raging Blue
Saturday, August 29: Superman II
Time: Gates open at 6:30pm. All movies begin at 8:00pm.
What NOT to Bring: Glass bottles, video cameras, tape recorders, chairs and alcoholic beverages are not allowed. All bags may be searched.
