Aug 20, 2023 - Next summer, the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park, known for hosting Shakespeare in the Park, will be undergoing an extensive renovation. It is set to reopen in the summer of 2025, and as a result, there won't be any Shakespeare in the Park next summer.
However, if you happened to miss the recent "Hamlet" production, there are still opportunities to catch performances at the Delacorte before it temporarily closes its doors.
Following "The Tempest," which will run from Aug 27 to Sept 3, there will be a special event titled "A Brief Intermission" taking place on September 6. This one-night celebration will commemorate the 61-year history of the Public Theater at the Delacorte. The event will feature the participation of the hip-hop improv comedy troupe Freestyle Love Supreme, including its creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christopher Jackson, among other guests.
