DNAinfo.com reported that the statue Alice in Wonderland was the one picked by voters to be carved out of a 6000 pound block of ice. The other statues that one could vote for were: the Untermyer Fountain, the Burnett Fountain or the Falconer statue.
Central Park Conservancy will hold their fifth (now annual) Ice Festival in Central Park on Februry 13th. The event will start at 3pm and run until 7pm.
The Ice Festival, which will be held at the Naumburg Bandshell near 72nd Street, will feature the ice carving event, a "silent disco," Central Park trivia, glowing light displays, and crafts.
