CENTRAL PARK CONSERVANCY FILM FESTIVAL:
Startting Monday, August 22nd through Saturday August 27th, the annual film festival will begin at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem and then make its way to Central Park later in the week. Films to be shown at Marcus Garvey Park are “School of Rock” (Monday), the 2003 Richard Linklater film that inspired the current Broadway musical, and then on Tuesday night "The Last Dragon".
Wednesday night in Central Park, they will be showing "I Am Legend", starring Will Smith. Thursday night, the 1982 classic comedy “Tootsie”. Friday night, Desperately Seeking Susan, starring Madonna and finally on Saturday night, "Stuart Little".
All movies are free, and a DJ and entertainment will be on hand starting at 6:30pm. All movies will start at 8pm. Monday and Tuesday, Marcus Garvey Park, Madison Avenue and 122nd Street, East Harlem. Wednesday through Saturday, near Sheep Meadow in Central Park, at West 67th Street. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Bring a picnic blanket to Central Park, sit back and enjoy. All seating at Marcus Garvey Park is on a first-come, first-served basis in the Amphitheatre.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the films, the following are not permitted: alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, chairs, video cameras, and tape recorders.
