Beekeepers in Central Park
Beekeepers have been kept in the dark for years, as the city’s Department of Health classified the insects as wild and dangerous. But the ban on bees has been recently lifted and now Central Park goers can see the bees and even learn about them.
On Sunday, March 28th 110 people gathered outside of the building next to the Central Park Zoo to listen to beekeeper Jim Fischer. For three hours, he taught his audience how to raise bees.
The class is on-going and meets every Sunday at 11am at the Central Park Arsenal at 830 5th Avenue. See our events page for more details.
