After so much loss, New Yorkers were grateful to get together in celebration.
And after so much virtual screen time during the last 20 months, people were delighted to attend this already favorite event in person! Happy Thanksgiving could be heard from block to block. Everybody is aware, the pandemic is not over, as seen in the glittering masks worn by cheerleaders and the requirements for vaccinations to participate in the parade or to watch the inflating of the balloons the day before the parade. But there was no denial of the joy of coming together.
