Weather Underground reported on six incredible facts about the warmth that we've had so far, not only in NYC, but in the northeast and other areas as well. The extended forecast calls for a continuation of above normal tempertures.
Christmas morning will be warmer than the average high temperature for late-December. Average high temperature in NYC for Dec. 25 is 40 degrees. We may wake up to temperatures near 60 degrees Christmas morning.
The biggest news is that NYC is having their longest stretch of days without dipping below the freezing mark (32 degrees) at Central Park. According to the National Weather Service, Central Park last saw the temperature drop below 32 degrees on March 30. This is a span of 266 days as of Dec. 21, trailing the record longest stretch of 274 days in 1998.
