Carries East Drive over a closed pedestrian walkway. The arch used to span a bridle path before the southern section of the path was removed during the 1934 expansion of Heckscher Playground. Later, it was converted as a walkway to the zoo. Under the Greengap Arch is now used as a storage after the entrance was blocked off for the Central Park Zoo renovation.
