The Central Park Zoo is proud to announce a special partnership with Fordham University to provide a new adult lecture series at the Central Park Zoo. This one is titled Urban Impacts on Landscape.
Urban areas present unique challenges to organisms, yet urban areas have been shown to be surprisingly high in biodiversity. Join Professor of Architecture, Colin Cathcart, who has completed a wide variety of "green architecture" projects, for a talk about how urban development impacts habitat and agriculture. The City Zoos Director, Jeff Sailer, will discuss how wildlife responds and adapts to life in urban areas. He will focus his lecture on the resilience of sea ducks and will reference the Central Park Zoo's sea duck collection. The program will conclude with a private tour of one of the Zoo's sea duck exhibits with Mr. Sailer. This program is brought to you by Fordham university and the Wildlife Conservation Society.
