The Originals

Five musical styles, coming together as one - The Originals perform FREE for SummerStage 2023.

The Originals is a quintet of rap DJs who have been around from almost the beginning of New York's Hip-Hop scene and will be performing at the One Day, Five Boroughs - Dance Party NYC celebration in Rumsey Playfield.

 They include Stretch Armstrong, of the beloved “Stretch And Bobbito” radio show; Clark Kent, who has produced classic records for the likes of Rakim, Jay-Z, and the Notorious B.I.G.; Rich Medina, who ran the legendary weekly dance institution APT; D-Nice, who got his start with KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions, and whose DJ sets on Instagram Live became a beacon of hope and positivity in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic; and Tony Touch, the b-boy turned DJ whose 50 MCs mixtapes became a Who’s Who of New York hip-hop in the 90s.
