St. Patrick's Day Parade

This is the largest and oldest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the world! 

Grab something green to wear and be Irish for one day! 

Where does the parade take place?

The parade begins on East 44th Street and marches up 5th Avenue to finish at the Irish Historical Society on 79th Street and 5th Avenue.

When?

The parade begins at 11:00 AM and finishes approximately 4:30 PM.

What can we expect?

To this day, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade remains true to its roots as a true marchers Parade by not allowing floats, automobiles and other commercial aspects in the Parade. There are anywhere from 150,000 to 250,000 marchers and a whole lotta bagpipes.

Will there be any portable restrooms available along the route?

No! Plan accordingly. You might want to hold off on drinking until after you have left the parade.

Will there be any park entrance closures?

Yes. All Park entrances between East 61st and East 65th Street; the 66th St. and 79th St. Transverse Roads; as well as the Billy Johnson Playground and the  East 72nd St. Playground
