Run for Japan
to
Dosokai, a group of NY runners from Hokkaido, will run for victims of last week's disaster in the Northeast region of Japan.
Date: March 20th, 2011 (Sunday)
Place: Central Park (Meeting Point: 72nd and 5th avenue entrance)
Start: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30am. (3x 6miles counterclockwise)
Run in any or all of the three runs. Meet at the starting point at 8:30, 10:00 or 11:30am. If you are not a runner, please come for support and to cheer the runners on at the park.
Attendees are asked to bring one dollar per person for donation. (No coins please - it’s too heavy to run with)
The Dosokai group will be wearing blue “Run for Japan” T-shirts.
Run at your own pace. Participants are asked to fundraise while running and will be provided with donation bags at the starting point of the run.
All proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society and Japanese prefectures that are affected the most, namely Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate. You can check the fund raising result on Dosokai's facebook page: http://on.fb.me/dRAehm
Event will take place rain or shine. The park is expected to be crowded around 8:30am due to NYRR’s “NYC Half” starting at 7:30am on the same date.
