Guitar fanatics, this SummerStage show is for you!

Tuareg singer/songwriter and guitarist Mdou Moctar emerged from his small village in Niger with a distinct, self-taught playing style, infusing African influences with psychedelic rock ‘n’ roll. His viral success in West Africa’s cell phone-trading network—where villagers swap songs via Bluetooth and SIM cards—took him around the world and drew like-minded musicians into his orbit.

Meg Baird, a masterful guitarist with a willowy voice, and Mary Lattimore, a musician and composer who wields affects pedals and synthesizers to modernize the harp for contemporary tastes. The two operate at the frayed edges of psychedelic music, sounding at once elegant and fuzzed-out.

Rough Francis, a hard-edged Vermont rock band descended from the ‘70s proto-punk band Death, will open.
