Sean Corcoran is the Curator of Prints and Photographs at the Museum of the City of New York. He is the curator for two ongoing museum exhibitions, John Sloan's New York and Manhattan Noon: Photographs by Gus Powell.
He is currently working on exhibitions exploring Coney Island, Central Park and Jazz in New York City. Previously, he was an Assistant Curator of Photography at George Eastman House for eight years. During this time he curated exhibitions with such range as Site Seeing: Photographic Excursions in Tourism, Aftermath: In the Wake of Hurricane Katrina, and Pete Turner's Empowered by Color.
Sean has served as a juror for several internationally renowned exhibitions, including "Critical Mass" (PhotoLucida, Portland Oregon). He also served for three years as adjunct faculty for Ryerson University (Toronto, Ontario) and lectured on history and theory in photography.
