Volunteers
The Central Park Conservancy offers a variety of ways for New Yorkers to contribute to the upkeep of the park or help visitors enjoy their stay. Hundreds of people volunteer every year. It’s a great way to meet others with the same passion for Central Park and the willingness to share their talents to maintain the park in the best condition. You can contribute a few hours, one day a week or more. Lead tours, rake leaves, teach fishing to kids or greet visitors from around the world. Have fun helping to make Central Park the best it can be.
Weekday volunteers - Zone Assistants:
Become an important member of a "zone team". Work closely with a Conservancy Zone Gardener and other volunteers to meet the horticulture and maintenance needs of your own zone in Central Park.
Weekdays, 9am-12pm
Commitment required: minimum 3 hours per week
Weekend volunteers - Green Team:
Work with a group of volunteers to complete large-scale horticulture and maintenance projects throughout the Park. This program runs year round canceling only under extreme weather conditions (25 degrees and below or 95 degrees and above). Saturdays (every other week), 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
No commitment: minimum 12 hours per year
Conservancy Greeters: If you love the Park and the people who visit it, help visitors from around the world or around the corner, navigate and discover Central Park.
