Honduran milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis)

Where found: Lowland rainforests of Honduras.
Diet: Snakes, lizards, and frogs.
Description: Tricolor, red with banded black and white. This beautifully colored snake may reach a length of up to 6 feet.
Blood python (Python curtus)
Where found: Indonesia, specifically central and southern Malay Peninsula, Sarawak, Sabah, Brunei, Borneo, and Sumatra.
Diet: Small mammals, and birds.
Description: May grow up to 5-6 feet long.
Life span: 20 years.
Brazilian rainbow boa (Epicrates cenchria cenchria)
Where found: Northern half of South America.
Diet: Small mammals, birds, and reptiles.
Description: Light orange to brick red, with brown circles along the dorsal midline. Rainbow-like shimmer. May grow up to 7 feet long.
Dumeril’s ground boa (Acrantophis dumerili)
Where found: Southern Madagascar. Please visit the Central Park Zoo’s boa exhibit on the lower level of the Tropic building, just past the fruit bats.
Diet: Small mammals, birds, and amphibians.
Description: Grayish brown and cocoa pattern. May grow up to 6-8 feet long.
Life span: 15-20 years.
Emerald tree boa (Corallus caninus)
Where found: South American Amazon basin, from Peru and Bolivia eastward through Brazil and the Guianas. Please visit the Central Park Zoo’s boa exhibit on the lower level of the Tropic building, just past the fruit bats.
Diet: Birds, lizards, and small mammals such as mice, opossums, and possibly bats.
Description: Emerald green color. May grow to an average of 4 feet long.
Life span: 15 years.
Madagascar ground boa (Acrantophis madagascariensis)
Where found: Northern Madagascar. Please visit the Central Park Zoo’s boa exhibit on the lower level of the Tropic building, just past the fruit bats.
Diet: Rats, chickens, small mammals, and birds.
Description: May grow up to 6-8 feet long. Brown or reddish-brown pattern, which allows it to blend in with the foliage on the ground.
Madagascar tree boa (Sanzinia madagascariensis)
Where found: Madagascar.
Diet: Small mammals, birds, and amphibians.
Description: May grown up to 4-6 feet long. Brown and tan pattern.
