For the quintessential New Yorker with wedding bells ringing in his ears, there is no better place to propose than Central Park.  The city’s centerpiece is a prime location for making memories and celebrating your new path. Check out some of the best places to get down on one knee in Central Park!

1) For a moment straight out of a romantic movie, meet your darling in the middle of Bow Bridge right at sunset for those four little words. The light glowing over the lake and illuminating the skyline around you will stir more drama than any Hollywood blockbuster and surely inspire a yes.

2) A horse-drawn carriage ride always works in setting the stage for romance. It’s a throwback to more chivalrous times that will make even the most modern city girl blush and giggle into her handkerchief.

3) The Loeb Boathouse is a beautiful setting for a quiet lunch watching swans and ducks drift along on the still water. The boathouse also offers sleepy rides on Venetian gondolas complete with serenades of classic arias for an experience that will whisk you to another place and time. Your gondolier is dressed in traditional garb and navigates the lake serenely while you declare you love and undying devotion.

4) The Carousel at 64th street has remained one of the most popular attractions in Central Park over the years. Adults and children alike are drawn to its simple fun. Take your beloved for a ride on the beautifully decorated horses that hearken back to a country fair where the two of you may have enjoyed cotton candy and fireworks. Cotton candy is still viable today if you know where to look, and with what you have in mind, fireworks are guaranteed!

5) Bring a touch of classic elegance to your proposal by spending some with your fair lady in the Shakespeare Garden. Impress her by quoting lines and passages from plays where the various blooms and plants around you are mentioned. To wed or not to wed? That is the question, and the answer is yes!

These and other sites around our fair park are famous and speak romance without even trying, but for many there are places that are special for personal reasons. How about that spot on the Great Lawn where a runaway Frisbee hit you in the head?  Or Belvedere Castle on mid-summer's eve? Or even the tree you sat under after your first fight.

Wherever you choose to pop the big question, the moment will be thrilling because of the excitement pounding in your heart and the joy of her reaction.  But, while you’re at it, why not throw in a measure of New York style that only Central Park can offer to make your marriage proposal truly unforgettable!  Below are some of the services CentralPark.com's wedding planning team can provide to make sure you get the perfect results.

We specialize in different solutions for anyone looking to pop the big question to their special someone
